The very name of Sneha Tulli may not ring a bell, but this will soon be a name that will be famous for being the first person to make a biopic on Kanti Shah called Ye Hai Mumbai. For the uninitiated, Kanti is the man who is largely responsible for making many B-grade films in Bollywood. His films have not just given the front benchers many a reason to rejoice, but also somehow managed to rub many leading filmmakers the wrong way, by naming his films in tune with their big budget films. Lage Raho Partner, Free Entry, Shaadi Basanti Ki Honeymoon Gabbar Ka etc, are some of the names that have been made by this filmmaker.
Rakesh Sabharwal, the Line Producer of Prince Movies producing Ye Hai Mumbai, confirmed the news stating that they do have a character inspired by Kanti Shah in the film, but he refused to call the film as a biography on Kanti. Explaining further, he said that the character in the film will be known as Shanti Shah, whose role will be essayed by Bijendra Kale. Amongst the many spoofs on his life, the film will also show the famous Sunny and Bobby Deol bashing up Kanti episode, and also Kanti's so called rivalry with the legendary Yash Chopra!
Ye Hai Mumbai is surely one film to watch out for those who have been either wrongly rubbed by or entertained by Kanti Shah!
