Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor have been sent legal notices for obscene dance moves during their performances at the opening ceremony of IPL 5 in Chennai that was held in April this year. The notice was sent based on a petition filed by advocate K Jebakuma at the Madras High Court bench in Madurai.
The petitioner alleged that the dance and performances of the celebrities were “obscene and lascivious, appealing to prurient interest”. Besides the above mentioned Bollywood actors, notice have also been sent to international pop star Katy Perry who also performed at the opening ceremony, cricketer Doug Bollinger and IPL Commissioner Rajiv Shukla, BCCI chief N. Srinivasan and a SET MAX official.
The case is scheduled to be heard on July 31.
