Bhatts reschedule release plans for Blood Money, Jannat 2 and Raaz 3

Bhatt brothers are staring at the busiest 12 months ahead in their movie making journey. After getting a shot in the arm with Murder 2, Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt pronto announced three new films - Blood Money, Jannat 2 and Raaz 3. However, there is a slight twist in the tale, courtesy Karan Johar, cricket and technology, three factors that the brothers don't wish to ignore.

"Though originally each of these three films was strategically planned for release next year, there has been some more thought put around on when to release each film", says a source connected to the film, "Initially the plan was to bring Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri starrer Blood Money on Valentines Day weekend, Jannat 2 (Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, Prachi Desai) on the weekend when IPL 2012 kick-starts and Raaz 3 in the month when IPL concludes. However, this won't be the case now."

The shift has come since Karan Johar has confirmed plans for his Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor) for the weekend leading to Valentines Day. Also, Bhatts aren't taking the IPL opening weekend lightly when it comes to competition with Jannat 2. As for Raaz 3, they now want to give it some more time since the film would be made in 3D.

"Unlike others who dilly-dally when it comes to their release plans and continue to occupy the best release slot for a last minute bargain, Bhatts believe in fair game and make way for others sooner than later. They understood there was no point in unnecessarily holding on their revised plans. Also, they have no ego in admitting competition. They are businessmen filmmakers; there is no place for any pretence here. They understand that with revised plans, they can manage better prospects for their films", says a veteran colleague.

Now that they have made their intentions clear, the Bhatt brothers would now be bringing Blood Money on 23rd March, Jannat 2 on 27th April and Raaz 3 on 31st August.

When contacted, Mukesh Bhatt didn't quite get into details around the changed plans for the films. However, he confirmed that the information our source gave around the release dates for the three films was indeed true.
