After the likes of Murder, Jism, Jannat and Raaz series, brothers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt went on a massive reinvention mode by backing films as different as Citylights and Mr. X. With a break being put into their earlier money making franchises, they decided to experiment. Now, after more than a year of hiatus, they have green lighted another franchise - Khamoshiyan.
Confirms our source, "Yes, Khamoshiyan will have its own franchise. It was always there in Bhatts' mind but first they wanted to gauge audience response to the Ali Fazal-Sapna Pabbi film. They didn't have to wait for long as the promo along with songs assured them that the film was on a right track. Now they are already working on next in the series."
With a quintessential Bhatt template of erotica, super natural and suspense elements, Khamoshiyan has been a brainchild of Vikram Bhatt who is said to have conceptualized Khamoshiyan as Haunted 2. Now with Khamoshiyan finding its own identity as a product, Vikram is expected to be in charge of next in the series as well.
Says Mahesh Bhatt, "Khamoshiyan is the new age erotic supernatural narrative. It takes a quantum leap from our super successful franchise of the Raaz series and adds more VFX magic to that idiom. The Khamoshiyan franchise is here to stay."
Expected to roll in early 2016, the film in all likelihood star newcomers again.
