Bela Segal, an accomplished editor and also sister of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has put an end to all speculation about her directorial debut. There have been whispers that the editor turned director has decided to cast newcomers, instead of stars, in her directorial debut. "I am still working on the script of my film," Bela tells me, "But one thing is for sure, the film will star top names, not newcomers. The vision that I have for the film demands big stars only." Incidentally, the project in question will be launched next year, although she had initially decided to launch it by the year-end. Why the postponement? "My brother [Sanjay Leela Bhansali] is starting his film this year and I'd get busy with its editing. Besides, I've yet to complete the script of my film," she explains. Bela sounds elated that the producers of her film [Super Cassettes Industries Ltd.] are very excited about the project. "Bhushan-ji [head honcho of Super Cassettes] has really liked the story idea of the film. He has been very encouraging," she states.
