Salman Khan fans have plenty to look forward to next Eid with the announcement of his action-thriller film, Sikandar. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is confirmed to release on Eid 2025 and will star Khan alongside Rashmika Mandanna. According to a recent report by journalist and producer Chithra Laksmanan, South Indian actor Sathyaraj, known for his role as Kattappa in Baahubali, will be seen playing the villain in Sikandar. However, an official confirmation from the film's makers is still awaited.
In a recent interview with the Times of India, director AR Murugadoss hinted at the film's content. He described Sikandar as a high-octane action film packed with emotions and a powerful social message. Murugadoss also mentioned the pan-India appeal of the film and teased a new side of Salman Khan for audiences to experience.
Murugadoss revealed that the project with Salman Khan had been discussed five years ago but was put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances. Recently, Salman expressed renewed interest in the project after a fresh narration, leading to a quick green light.
Sikandar is shaping up to be a grand production. Earlier reports from Pinkvilla suggest the film will be shot in Portugal and other European countries alongside locations in India. With a reported budget of Rs 400 crore, Sikandar is poised to be the most ambitious project for producer Sajid Nadiadwala to date.
