Soon after the success of Vicky Donor, Ayushmann Khurrana had been signed by Kunal Kohli for a rom-com. However that project seems to have fallen apart now owing to differences between Ayushmann and Kunal.
Ayushmann claims that he had signed the film on the condition that he would be paired opposite an A-list actress. When Kunal later thought of casting some not-so established actresses, Ayushmann decided to opt out of the project irking Kunal no end.
Kunal, who has been in the industry for a long time now, is furious with the way the newcomer, has behaved in this situation. The filmmaker tweeted, "Not doing the film with Ayushmann. We discuss projects with various people some happen, some don't. No big deal. Ayushmann's reasons were demeaning to other actresses. Sad a newcomer thinks likes that. Real stars/actors don't. Anyway, moving on :-) Also I was looking to produce a small film with him. Budget didn't work out. I'd rather concentrate on other projects. Just to clarify I was NOT directing the proposed Ayushmann film. Sad he's projecting it like this to get publicity."
