Actress Archana Puransingh is all set to try her hand at film direction. Her directorial debut, starring four new girls and one boy, is straight out of life -- her life, to be precise. "It's semi-autobiographical," Archana confesses to me, "When I came to Mumbai eighteen years ago, I remember sharing the room at Mahalaxmi with four girls. This is the essence of the film." Archana hasn't titled the film yet, since she's still readying the script of the film. "I hope to start filming by January 15, 2004, but if I do manage to complete the script beforehand, we may roll earlier," she divulges. In the meanwhile, Archana is planning to hold acting workshops with the five principal actors of the film. "It's a romantic-musical, to be made in Hinglish. In fact, I want to give the liberty to my actors to change a line or two, if necessary," she adds. The talented actress started writing her first script when her first baby was due almost eight years ago. "The doctor advised me long walks then and I remember jotting down points during that phase. But I am not making that script [it's on motherhood]. The second story I wrote is being made into this film now," she reveals. The film will be produced by Parth Arora, who is also the producer of DHOOP [Om Puri, Revathi, Sanjay Suri, Gul Panag].
