The launch of Fiza with much fanfare has belied all expectations. It is a small hit in Bombay and overseas. Elsewhere too, it was hit, but badly. The distributors are expected to just break even which is bad considering the star cast and the hype. The situation is so bad that Khalid Mohamad has gone into suspended animation. He is refusing to review movies. He just poops into his office and slinks away from all contact. The word Fiza has become verboten in Khalid's office. Though Hrithik and Karisma are outstanding, good performances alone cannot save a film. Amul's new campaign has captured the fizzling out of Fiza in its cartoon. Truly, this is one fizz too many.
