Amitabh Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor came face to face together on the sets of South filmmaker S Raamanathan's Zamaanat. This is the first time the duo is working together since Karisma's wedding. Prior to that they had worked together for Mehul Kumar's Mrityudaata (1997), which was supposed to form the comeback vehicle of Amitabh. Zaamanat would perhaps form the comeback vehicle of Karisma Kapoor. What's surprising about Zamaanat is that the film was launched way back in 1986 but was shelved for reasons unknown, until Raamanathan (after all these years) decided to restart shooting in Chennai. The film also stars the so called 'Amitabh Bachchan of the south' Vijayashanti, who stars for the first time opposite Big B but their love doesn't bloom in the film due to some misunderstandings. Karisma then arrives in the plot asking Bachchan, who plays a lawyer, to take up the case of her lover (Arshad Warsi) who is charged of a murder he didn't commit.
