Netflix’s new South Korean series The Accidental Narco, which stars Ha Jung Woo, Hwang Jung Min, Park Hae Soo and Yoo Yeon Seok, will reportedly begin streaming from September 9.
According to Korea JoongAng Daily, written and directed by Yoon Jong Bin, The Accidental Narco tells the story of a businessman who cooperates with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to arrest a Korean drug lord active in Suriname. Ha Jung Woo plays Kang In Gu, a civilian Korean businessman who risks his life to participate in the NIS’s operation.
According to the report, Hwang Jung Min plays the conman and drug lord Jeon Yo Hwan. The series also stars Park Hae Soo as an agent striving to arrest Jeon, actor Jo Woo Jin as Jeon’s right-hand man and Yoo Yeon Seok as Jeon’s attorney who offers him protection. Taiwanese actor Chang Chen will also make a special appearance as the head of a Chinese crime ring.
The series marks the Netflix debut of actors Ha Jung Woo and Hwang Jung Min. Moreover, this is the first Netflix series directed by Yoon, who is known for films Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time (2012) and The Spy Gone North (2018).
