While veteran B.R. Chopra's BAGHBAN is celebrating its silver jubilee run, his grand-son Abhay Chopra's student film, made for his film graduation, has been nominated for this year's Students Oscar for the best film award. Abhay is studying film direction in U.S.A.
The nominations are selected from entries from film schools from all over the U.S. The half-hour student film, titled INDIA 1964, features Abhay's best friend and classmate from KG to film-making in U.S.A., Ranbir Kapoor [son of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor].
Meanwhile, Abhay's elder brother Kapil, who assisted directors Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar [in MOHABBATEIN, K3G, KAL HO NAA HO], has joined his father Ravi Chopra for their forthcoming film BAABUL, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Salman Khan.
