Midweek: ‘Sarkar Raj’ has good weekend, but slips from Monday

Sarkar Raj	Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan	A well-made film in all respects	Gets a bit slow in the second hour	Friday was slow, Saturday was better and Sunday was excellent. Multiplexes were fantastic, but single screens were poor. Monday onwards, there has been a drastic fall all over, including at multiplexes. Is best in Mumbai-Maharashtra and South, but shaky in North. The high prices it has been sold at is also a deterrent
Jannat	Emraan Hashmi, Sonal Chauhan, Jawed Sheikh, Samir Kochar, Vishal Malhotra	Well penned, well directed venture with excellent music [Pritam] and skilled performances	Initial portions could've been more convincing
Bhoothnath	Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan [sp. app.], Juhi Chawla, Aman Siddiqui, Satish Shah, Rajpal Yadav, Priyanshu Chatterjee	A well-made film with some excellent light and emotional moments	Vishal-Shekhar's music
Aamir	Rajeev Khandelwal	Excellent direction, gripping script and topnotch performance	Caters to a niche audience	Collections haven't shown a jump at all, despite tremendous appreciation
Woodstock Villa	Sikandar, Neha Uberoi, Arbaaz Khan, Gulshan Grover, Shakti Kapoor	Few twists in the plot and competent performances	Too many songs and predictable climax
