Filmmaker Chandoo Mondeti and Geetha Arts’ THANDEL is the story of a husband’s separation from his wife due to unusual circumstances. The film tells the story of Raju (Naga Chaitanya), a fisherman. He is hard-working and kind-hearted and he deeply loves his fiancée Sathya (Sai Pallavi). She also loves him... equally. However, she is worried because of his profession where he has to venture out into the sea daily. She anticipates danger associated with it. As fate would have it, during one of Raju’s last fishing expeditions, he and his team accidentally cross onto the Pakistani waters. They are imprisoned by the Pakistani forces. How Sathya puts in all her efforts to get Raju released from the Pakistani jail forms the rest of the film.
