This is my first ever movie review ever on any forum or even to my own. But after reading the review of Saawariya and Om Shanthi Om, and watching both movies one thing seems obvious to me that the film critics are to some extend biased and that triggered me to put this review on board. I would say Om Shanthi Om could have been a much better movie in the hands of a better director than Farah Khan. The movie itself is like bits of scenes are choreographed and tailored to a reel. The story is not flowing like a river and some of the scenes reflect the mood of the sets i which the scence has taken place. and some of the best lines became an understatement because of the poor background score. A typical example in which SRK award accpeting speech with a bottle in the streets with children as audience. A bbeter voice modulation for the dialogue and a music score of impact would have made tears in everyones eye then just our poor papumaster's cry. And though money making is a part of the movie, I feel that it should not affect the movie goers and the spirit of Hindi movie. some scenes were like watching a commercial ad that a film. Especially where Tag Heur watches and Shopper's Stop were promoted. This is by far SRK's worst performance. Deepika I would say have improved a lot and have all the calibre to achieve big in bollywood. Khiron Kher and Shreyas are perfect for the role. Arjun Rampal is outstanding. The story is stretched as a chewing gum which makes it hard to digest at times.
The verdict: Good story, good actors but poor direction and background score drops the movie a bitter experience.
