As I begin writing my views on Sajid Khan's Humshakkals, the thought that do come to mind is that how silly and crap a movie can be made with massive budget , high cost production, popular star cast and widely distributed by Hollywood studio Fox Star ? There are movies like Shahid and Bheja Fry with high quality content and shoe string budget ( 80 lakhs and 50 lakhs respectively, yes you read it right ) and yet managed to impress the audience. Why do we have people like Sajid Khan making films and yet actors like Saif Ali Khan are working with him ? Humshakkals is a comedy of errors centered around 3 people who look alike each other. From the disaster movies like Housefull , Housefull 2 and Himmatwala, comes another "H" titled Humshakkals in which the definition of Story, Script and direction does not fit it. Sajid Khan dedicates the movie to likes of Jim Carrey in the beginning but at least you tend to laugh at Carry's crazy antics. In Humshakkals, you will wonder how amateurish can Sajid Khan get. Imagine a scene where there is a chain of slapping between Riteish, Saif , Ram Kapoor and Satish Shah with Shah quoting it as Slapstick Comedy. Editing is horrible. The torture goes on for almost 3 hours. Art direction is good. Cinematography is nice. Songs are pathetic. Among all the actors, Ram Kapoor gives an honest performance. Overall, avoid Humshakkals at any cost. Sajid Khan's movies had and never will work even if you uses "H" in his future movies.

After a long time a full comedy genre movie came on box office. Starting with Saif and Riteish, their comedy timing and jokes were superb. Film started of very well but before interval become little weak. But after interval, it goes on very well. Songs are good. The three heroines have not much to do in the film but they add the glamour flavour successfully. Sajid khan's last film was disaster but returning to his favourite genre he is all ready to get back on track. The story of the film is average. The triple role of the three main actors worked great with lot of fun and confusion. If you are bored of action films you can switch to comedy genre for a while. So, my review on this film is 10/8.

Fresh from one of the biggest debacle in Indian cinema, Sajid Khan presents to you his tried and tested formula of brainless comedy. It is conspicuous that Sajid tries hard to tickle the funny bones of the audience. He doesn't shy away from using his own formula of confusion, using clichéd homosexual gags, imitation of actors, making fun of his own films and even copying scenes from movie such as scary movie which itself is a parody and not considered a classic by any standard. The movie is a no brain-er and in the starting half an hour makes you wonder whether it was meant only for kindergarten children. The plot has hardly anything to discuss, songs act as a loo break, acting flawed at some places and technical part, well let's say it was never a forte of Sajid. But all faults apart though the movie totally departs from the established logic of world we see, it performs well in what it was meant to i.e evoke laughs. Yes the movie in parts do evoke laughs (even if its on the sheer stupidity of the movie )and the best part being it never takes itself too seriously so you could just join in the fun without straining your brain. Acting wise Ritesh has done many such roles so he seemed very natural, Ram Kapoor shows how good an actor he is by handling those cheeky scenes, Saif tries hard but frankly some scenes were not meant for him ,actresses hardly had anything to do but Tamanna shows potential. Overall if you are a movie buff and have been waiting for a movie this movie drought season this might bring you some respite, if you keep your brain at home also this is worth a watch if you want to enjoy a clean comedy with family, especially kids. If you are not a fan of Sajid Khan,Saif Ali or brainless comedy this one is definitely not for you.

Sajid Khan directed 'Humshakals' only brings out one feeling to your heart , "How bad can a movie get !". This awful movie spoils your day in its 159 minutes of its running time. The movie is about these 2 men Ashok and Kumar , once again trying to repeat old humor by repeating names of legends of the Hindi film industry , who come into the trap of Ashok's uncle , Kuvar who wants to acquire his business empire and manages to send the both of them to a mental asylum. Over there where 2 actual mental twins of Ashok and Kumar (having the same names as a coincidence) already exist. After which follows the typical 'Comedy of errors' with absolutely bizarre sequences throughout the movie. I personally do like Saif Ali Khan as an actor but this time he's got it completely wrong. There is a scene in the movie where Satish Shah tortures Saif and Riteish by showing them Sajid Khan's previous movie 'Himmatwala' , I would rather suggest him to just show the horrendous movie they have acted in themselves and the torture would be worse than 3rd degree. I'm going with a 1/10 for this movie , watch it only if you don't have a life.

A mindless tale, the story is about Ashok (Saif ali khan) a rich business tycoon who has an uncle (ram kapoor) out to take his fortunes. Ashok also has a close friend Kumar (riteish). The uncle teams up with a doctor (nawwab shah) to hatch a plot but things take a turn when the duo discovers that both Ashok and his friend have got lookalikes but are mentally retarded. What happens from there forms the rest. The director has come up with a mad storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was pathetic. The dialogues were silly. The script was way below average and the screenplay made it worse. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was required during the second half. Costumes were well designed to suit the royalty while the art department was majestic. Saif Ali Khan gave something new with this role but he was not fully suitable. Ram Kapoor gave a committed performance. The one to watch out for is Riteish Deshmukh, he was excellent. Bipasha Basu was sultry, Tamannah was smoking hot and extremely attractive, Esha Gupta was glamorous. But other than the songs girls had nothing to do. Another actor to watch out for is Satish Shah, he is simply superb. Nawwab Shah was natural, Chunky Pandey, Suresh Menon, Darshan Jariwala were not used properly. It is common to expect there would be no logic in madcap entertainers but then there is also a limit which must not be crossed. In this film, the first few minutes is good and shows promise but later on, it becomes totally senseless. The interval break was a relief and the torture continues during the second half. Whacky comedy doesn't mean a total brainless dump, it requires the right conviction. However, all that didn't work here so the film actually bores.Film has a few laughs but you will cry more. Not recommend. 3.75/10

There is no story at all. It is an idea with forced scenes. Screenplay has nothing new to offer. It is just an extended version of duo double role films. Most of the scenes fall flat. You wont get tickled while character of the film will be laughing loud on screen. But , yes few scenes are hilarious, especially when all three male actor disguise them self as girls. This complete sequence is very entertaining but again credit does not go alone to the creative persons it is maximum supported by the fantastic performance. Three persons triple role is just stuffed. It does not add any extra situation to comedy. It just weave out an another aspect of characters. Movie runs on a slow pace. Female characters have nothing to add in film except some glamour. Performance wise Ritesh Deshmukh is fantastic. His comic timing is superb. He can make you laugh in any ordinary scene with his expressions. Saif Ali Khan is surprisingly good in his comedy version. Ram Kapoor is fine. Music by Himesh Reshamiya is very entertaining. It supports and pushes the film in good way.

Sajid Khan strikes back with his slap stick comedy genre with "Humshakals" but the problem is that there is not enough laughs to sustain 159 mins… So Sajid goes back to his "Housefull " mould of European mansions, swanky cars, heroines wearing skimpiest costumes and too many characters who are a caricature. Sadly for "Humshakals" it falls flat and what we get is a trash in the name of comedy. The Story written by Sajid Khan of three sets of Humshakals of Ashok (Saif), Kumar (Riteish) and Mamaji alias KANS (Ram Kapoor), one set of Ashok who is heir to the multimillion empire of Sighanias, Kumar who is Ashok's best friend and Mamaji who is scheming to confiscate the empire from Ashok, another set wherein all three are mental patients Ashok, Kumar

While HUMSHAKALS begins on a promising note -- it's a premise ripe with comic potential -- the graph only spirals southwards barely fifteen minutes into the film. It's not sacrilege to attempt a no-brainer -- the audience loves it -- but the smiles/guffaw/laughter should never be in short supply. With a run time of approx. 2.30 hours, HUMSHAKALS drains you at the end of it, despite the actors putting their best foot forward and trying so so so hard to make you giggle even when the gags are weak. The banal jokes and the lame PJs coupled with the muddled screenplay are clearly responsible for the royal mess. With its multi-story story, Humshakals must be tightly told. Here, the film wobbles, its first half distractedly meandering with mindless sequences involving comas, electric shocks and Satish Shah as a Hitler-worshipping warden, tormenting patients by showing them Himmatwala. The second half gets tauter and funnier. The result's like a minty chewing gum that's been stretched too long. Shedding 30 minutes and some jaded gags would make Humshakals consistent fun - now, you laugh but also frequently go, ho-hum. This is a racist, sexist, equal-opportunity offender of a film, which wouldn't have been awful in itself were it not also patently unfunny. Seriously, if you run into anyone who claims to have enjoyed this film, step away slowly. The biggest casualty from this monstrous effort is, in my eyes, Saif Ali Khan, who may well be disowned by friends and family. It's all bad. All of it, every last instant, every single word. So you thought Sajid Himmatwala Khan could sink no further. Watch just 15 minutes of Humshakals and you'd be disavowed of that notion. Even by the pitiable cinematic standards that the director has so defiantly set for himself, Humshakals is the very pits. It scrapes the bottom of a barrel that seems to have no bottom at all. Humshakals is an execrable comedy of horrors that plumbs the depths of stupidity and crassness. If there is any purpose that this load of unalloyed trash serves, it is simply this: the film proves how delusional Sajid Khan is. He thinks this is cinema. Sorry, Mr. Khan, no matter how much money your film ends up with at the box office, the joke is entirely on you! This one is way beyond. Idiocy is a gentle term for what is unleashed upon us. You can also call it a two-and-a- half hour show reel of plot-less, witless, joylessness. I am all for political incorrectness. Silliness can be great fun. But brainless doesn't have to translate to brain-dead, when it is done with smarts. 'Humshakals' has zero. Even in his really terrible moments, Sajid has managed to come up with one laugh out loud moment. Or two. Here there are none. Humshakals' central problem isn't the lack of realism, but that it isn't funny. If you're thinking of watching Humshakals, here's a suggestion. Don't do it. There are better things you can do with your money and being swallowed alive by a python is less excruciating than watching Sajid Khan's latest attempt at making a movie. If Himmatwala was terrible, I have no clue how to rate Humshakals. Sans a scintilla of intelligence, the film begins with a note from Sajid Khan about what a wise man had once said. It seems that Sajid never paid heed to the value of experience, which quite justifies the level of his films. Bereft of wit, the film banks on a convoluted narrative and one mess of a storyline. At 2 hours and 40 minutes, the film is an endurance test which I failed in. If you suck out Ram
