Yatra 2 Teaser: Jiiva wins hearts as the faithful son of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy aka Mammootty in this biopic
Mammootty as 14th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the 2019 film Yatra won hearts and now continuing the legacy and the biopic series will be Kollywood actor Jiiva who will be taking over the reigns in the sequel. Essaying the role of the 17th Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan in Yatra 2, the teaser of the film was unveiled on January 5 and it seems that the teaser has made many emotional about the journey and politics that Jagan had to undergo post the demise of his beloved father.
Going by the teaser, Yatra 2 will not only be tracing the journey of Y.S. Jagan when he enters politics but will also address certain matters which caused an uproar including the embezzlement charges he faced. The teaser is expected to feature the Indian political conspiracies which led to the arrest of the Jagan and addresses the demise of his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Mammootty too is expected to play a pivotal part in the film and is expected to be seen in an extended cameo of sorts as he essays the character of Jiiva’s father and the beloved politician Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
It is being said that the film will trace the political happenings between 2009 and 2019 as Y.S. Jagan rose into power and became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The film also boasts of an ensemble cast which includes actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar who will be seen as Nara Chandrababu Naidu, along with Suzanne Bernert as Congress Leader Sonia Gandhi, and Ketaki Narayanan as YS Bharathi. The movie is directed by Mahi V Raghav and music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan. It is slated to release on February 8 in multiple languages including all South languages and Hindi.
