RRR: Ahead of Golden Globe 2022, here’s a THROWBACK video of Ram Charan dancing to ‘Naatu Naatu’ at an awards ceremony

We all know that there was a massive outrage over the much talked SS Rajamouli film RRR and its Oscar entry. While that still remains a dream, the film has been winning several other prestigious accolades abroad. After winning several awards in the US, the film has been nominated in multiple categories at the forthcoming Golden Globe Awards 2022. In fact, the popular dance number ‘Naatu Naatu’ featuring Ram Charan and Junior NTR has also bagged a nomination for Best Original Score in the international awards.

While congratulatory messages are already pouring for S.S. Rajamouli and the team of RRR, for its nominations in the prestigious Golden Globe Awards, we decided to celebrate the moment by sharing a throwback video of Ram Charan dancing live on the song ‘Naatu Naatu’. Readers would recall that earlier this month, the soon-father-to-be took off to Delhi where he was honored with the True Legend - Future of Young India award.

 

After receiving the award, as the host requested him to perform, he recalled the rigorous practice that he and co-star Junior NTR had to go through to get the steps right and how strict S.S. Rajamouli was about the whole dance schedule. After much persuasion, when two men got on to stage to recreate the iconic steps of ‘Naatu Naatu’, an enthusiastic Ram Charan joined them as he also taught them how to ace the moves.

Coming to the film, RRR is a period drama set during the pre-Independence era and revolves around two fictional revolutionaries. With Junior NTR playing a rebel, it features Ram Charan in the role of an honest and righteous police officer. It also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles. After releasing in India in March 2022, the film released in Japan last month.
