Rana Daggubati on nepotism - "Without the skill, you cannot last in any industry"

By Bollywood Hungama News Network -

The nepotism debate has once again taken the spotlight after the untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. The conversation is now around how outsiders get fewer opportunities compared to star kids. Telugu actor Rana Daggubati, who hails from a film family, recently spoke about what he thinks about his privilege.

On India Today's e-Mind Rocks 2020, Rana said, "Without the skill, you cannot last in any industry. Nepotism comes from an Indian understanding of what a family is. If you have a father who has worked very hard, he will provide it to his family in the means they understand, which is through capital and knowledge. So, we will be part of the privileged people. I can't take that away. That comes with greater responsibility."

"In lockdown, we have to run a company with over 600 employees and pay them a salary. We have to make sure that the organisation is back to its feet soon. There's always a responsibility attached to it. Also, there's no option of giving up and you've got to keep getting better," he added.

Rana Daggubati is the son of film producer Daggubati Suresh Babu. His paternal uncle is a well-known actor Venkatesh.

On the work front, Rana Daggubati will star in Haathi Mere Saathi. It was supposed to release on April 12, 2020, but due to lockdown and theatres being shut, the new release is yet to be announced.
