Kajal Aggarwal out of Shankar’s Indian 2; makers looking to cast Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif?

On voluntary maternity leave, Kajal Agarwal is apparently no more the leading lady in Kamal Haasan’s next big epic film Indian 2. The Shankar-directed sequel to the 1996 hit has been on the anvil for a while now, awaiting the director and the leading man’s attention. But now with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram doing reasonably well, it is time for the politician-actor to plunge into another big-scale action adventure.

Sources from Chennai say Indian 2 is being planned as the most expensive film of Kamal Haasan’s career. “It is being designed as a pan-India film. The film now needs a big Bollywood actress, like Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif,” says the source.

 

It would be recalled that the first film in the franchise featured Urmila Matondkar and Manisha Koirala. Indian 2 too is likely to feature two top Bollywood actresses opposite Kamal Haasan.
