Income Tax officials raid Rashmika Mandanna’s residence suspecting tax evasion

On Thursday morning, officers from the Income Tax department conducted a search and seizure operation at the home of actress Rashmika Mandanna. Reportedly, around 7.30 am, nearly 15 income tax officials arrived at Rashmika's residence in Coorg. Rashmika's mother was at home when the officials arrived.

As per reports, the IT department also carried out search at Serenity hall which is owned by Rashmika's father and also his office. The officials said that the raid was conducted on suspicion that Rashmika had evaded taxes.

 

A day before the raid, Rashmika Mandanna had made a statement in which she denied making a lot of money. The statement came after massive speculation that her income had crossed the seven-figure mark. In her statement, she said that she is not the highest-paid actor and that she is just starting off in the film industry. She said that when people tell her that she is the highest-paid actress in Sandalwood, she wonders where the news is coming from. The actress further said that she does not have any money in the bank and still feels like a debutant.

 

Rashmika Mandanna made her debut with the Kannada film Kirik Party which released in 2016. She went on to feature in several Kannada and Telugu films thereafter. Within two years she became a huge hit in the industry. She has acted in films like Dear Comrade, Sarileru Neekevvaru, Chalo, Geeta Govindam, Chamak, Yajamana, Anjani Putra and Vritra. She has worked in nine movies in two years and also has several brand endorsements.
