Makers of Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna starrer Kuberaa postpone pre-release event in respect to Ahmedabad plane crash victims
Following the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, the team of the upcoming Telugu film Kuberaa has announced the postponement of its pre-release event. This decision was taken as a gesture of respect for the victims and their families affected by the devastating Air India accident.
In an official statement, the makers expressed their deepest condolences, saying, “The pre-release event of Kuberaa, scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed in light of the tragic Ahmedabad flight crash. We stand in solidarity with the grieving families.”
They also urged fans and the media to keep the victims in their thoughts, assuring that updates about the rescheduled date of the event would be shared in due time.
The tragic crash of Air India flight AI171, which happened shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, claimed 265 lives and deeply shook the nation. The plane, headed to London, crashed into a government hospital hostel, causing extensive damage and sorrow.
Shortly after the news emerged, celebrities and film industry members turned to social media to share their grief and support. The lead actors of Kuberaa—Nagarjuna, Dhanush, and Rashmika Mandanna—also posted messages offering prayers and strength to everyone affected by the tragedy.
Touted as a socio-drama, Kuberaa delves into themes of ambition, morality, and power. Filmed simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, it will also be released in dubbed versions in Kannada and Malayalam, making it a true pan-Indian release. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa is scheduled to premiere in theatres on June 20.
