Priyanka Chopra gives sweet reaction to Mumbai crowd chanting ‘Jiju’ for Nick Jonas during Jonas Brothers’ Lollapalooza India 2024 performance, watch
Jonas Brothers – Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas – were back in India on Saturday, January 29, 2024. This time, they brought their band to Mumbai for their first performance. Amid the glitz and glamour of the second edition of Lollapalooza India 2024, the trio enthralled Mumbai as the headliners and took the Mumbai audience by surprise with their one-and-a-half-hour set.
Ahead of their setlist, Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Gallan Goodiyaan’ from Dil Dhadakne Do was played which sent the audience into a frenzy. Mumbai was delighted to have Nick Jonas back in India amid the chants of ‘Nick Jiju’ or ‘Jiju’ which he was delighted to hear. “This is our very first time performing in India. The sangeet doesn’t count,” quipped Nick, referring to his 2018 sangeet ceremony with Priyanka Chopra, which left the audience in splits. “Two incredible nights at Lollapalooza. This crowd is incredible, not just now but all day long. If you’ve been here all day, make some noise and if you’re going to be here all day, make some noise,” added Nick.
The videos were viral on social media. Priyanka Chopra on Sunday shared a clip of the viral chanting of ‘Jiju’ for Nick Jonas in Mumbai and wrote on her Instagram stories, “My heart, Thank you Mumbai.” Priyanka, who is a regular at the Jonas Brothers’ concerts, gave India's show a miss. But, continued to support the trio with her messages and hyped them up on social media.
Jonas Brothers closed the opening night of the festival with electrifying performances on their hit songs like ‘SOS’, ‘Burnin’ Up’, ‘Sucker’, ‘Year 3000’, ‘What A Man Gotta Do’, ‘Gotta Find You’ among several of their hits. Joe and Nick also performed their solo hits like ‘Close’, ‘Jealous’ and ‘Cake By The Ocean’ among several other songs.
The Jonas Brothers, originally catapulted to fame through Disney Channel, have evolved into a symbol of pop royalty. Comprising Kevin, Joe, and Nick, this trio has seamlessly transitioned from teen heartthrobs to mature artists, contributing significantly to the contemporary pop and pop-rock landscape. Their discography is studded with hits that resonate with fans of all ages. ‘Sucker’ showcases their current pop prowess, while ‘Burnin’ Up’ and ‘Year 3000’ serve as reminders of their earlier, infectious sound. The Jonas Brothers' ability to blend catchy melodies with meaningful lyrics has solidified their status as pop icons!
