The Witch: Part 2 - The Other One: New character stills of Lee Jong Suk, Jin Goo and Seo Eun Soo unveiled

The Witch: Part 2 - The Other One is the sequel to the 2018 film The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion, which starred Kim Da Mi, Choi Woo Shik and Go Min Si. The film centers around a genetically engineered kid, a young girl who escapes out of a secret laboratory that conducted various experiments on her.

As noted by Korean outlet Soompi, being the only one to survive an accident that leaves the lab in ruins, the action film depicts the numerous forces with different motives that gather to chase down the young girl.

 

Lee Jong Suk, who starred in Romance is a Book, Pinocchio, and While You Were Sleeping, will star as Jang, the director of the secret lab who tracks down the missing girl. The fantasy thriller will be Lee Jong Suk’s first film in five years. Being the director of the secret lab, Jang will go up against Dr. Baek (Jo Min Soo), the initiator of the “witch project.” Jo Min Soo commented on Lee Jong Suk’s acting, “To the point where I honestly can’t believe he’s standing in front of a camera for the first time in a while, he perfectly immersed into his character.”

 

 

Meanwhile, Jin Goo will portray the head boss Yong Doo, who interrupts the peaceful daily lives of the young girl, as well as siblings Kyung Hee (Park Eun Bin) and Dae Gil (Sung Yoo Bin). He represents an axis of conflict as a dangerous character who wants to eliminate the young girl by any means necessary. Jin Goo shared, “Compared to the first film, you will be able to see a greater scale and more diverse and vivid characters.” Jin Goo’s work credits include Descendants of the Sun, Untouchable and Legal High among others.

 

Seo Eun Soo, who previously worked on The Smile Has Left Your Eyes and Missing: The Other Side, will play the role of head office agent Jo Hyun. Regarding her first high-intensity action film since debut, Seo Eun Soo shared, “I had a lot of concerns and it was difficult, but I got to act as the character I really wanted [to portray], so the pleasure [I got] from filming each and every scene was substantial.”

 

 

The cast for the upcoming sequel includes Shin Si Ah, Park Eun Bin, Seo Eun Soo, Jin Goo, Sung Yoo Bin, Lee Jong Suk as well as Kim Da Mi and Jo Min Soo, who starred in the first film. The Witch: Part 2. The Other One is slated to release on June 15.
