Oscar winner Will Smith was filmed dancing to his own song 'Gettin' Jiggy Wit It' at the Oscars afterparty following his Best Actor win at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday after he slapped comedian Chris Rock at the ceremony.

At the Vanity Fair Oscar party, Will Smith gleefully danced with wife Jada Pinkett Smith and family waving his best actor trophy after he stunned viewers with what has now been coined the Oscars Slap. He appeared unbothered at the Oscars afterparty later that evening, where he was joined by children Willow Smith, Jaden Smith, and Trey Smith and more friends.

 

Lupita Nyong'o, Lena Waithe, and Trevor Noah reportedly hugged him as he entered the party, where the DJ congratulated Smith and played some of his songs, including "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It." Vanity Fair awards editor Katey Rich tweeted the footage from Sunday night's party where Will danced and sang his own lyrics while showing off his Oscar for his performance in King Richard.

 

 

 

As previously reported, during the Oscar night, Will Smith was seen taking to the stage and slap Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about Will’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. By Monday morning, police had confirmed that Rock wouldn’t be pressing charges over the incident, which spurred a vast wave of reactions from viewers and in-person attendees alike. Following the heated exchange, the actor offered an apology to the Academy and his fellow nominees during his acceptance speech.

 

While Chris Rock declined to press charges against Smith, the stunning altercation was condemned by the film academy which later called for an investigation. “The Academy condemns the actions of Mr. Smith at last night’s show,” the organization said. “We have officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences in accordance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct and California law.”
