Soni Razdan sounds alarm as Mumbai Air Quality plunges: “Mumbai's Air Quality is worse than Delhi's”

Mumbai, the city of dreams, is turning into a city of coughs and wheezes. Actress Soni Razdan took to Twitter to express her concern about the worsening air quality in Mumbai, urging citizens to take action.

In a tweet posted on Friday, Razdan wrote, "Mumbaikars ... how many of you have dry itchy throats and are coughing constantly? Road dust makes up 2/3rd of particles in Mumbai's air. Rapid addition of high-rises and highways in last decade, has made Mumbai's Air Quality is worse than Delhi's! Sign the petition."

 

 

 

With that being said, it is worth mentioning here that a day ago, actress Dia Mirza had also raised her concerns over the same. On Thursday, Mirza wrote, “Today’s #AQI is over 200. Our city has been engulfed in polluted air since the monsoons stopped.”

 

She further added, “The rampant waste burning, industrial emissions, over 6000 construction sites continue to flout guidelines and norms. Despite repeated warnings and attempts to put checks in place. Breathing this toxic air affects every person. Our children and elderly especially.”
