Actor Ravie Dubey has revealed that he kept his casting as Lakshman in Ramayana a secret from his wife, Sargun Mehta, even as he was actively shooting for the film. The revelation comes amid growing anticipation around the Nitesh Tiwari directorial, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram.

Speaking about the unusual decision, Sargun shared that the couple consciously avoids discussing work at home. “We don’t really talk about work at home,” she said, adding, “Just like he doesn’t know what I’m doing until my projects are announced, I also don’t find out about his work until it becomes public.”

 

She further revealed that she only learned about Dubey’s role through others. Recalling the moment, she said that when someone congratulated her, she stopped them because “I was not supposed to know,” underscoring how strictly they maintain this boundary in their personal life.

 

Dubey, who essays Lakshman in the epic adaptation, reportedly maintained complete secrecy throughout the shoot, aligning with the couple’s mutual understanding of keeping professional commitments separate from their personal space.

 

Ramayana, mounted as a large-scale cinematic retelling of the Indian epic, has been generating significant buzz for its scale and ensemble cast. The teaser of the film was unveiled today, adding to the growing anticipation around the project.
