Ranbir Kapoor offers to click selfie with a fan in Mauritius; makes his day

Ranbir Kapoor’s last release was Sanju in 2018. For four years, he stayed away from cinemas and now in the next 1 year, he’ll be coming out with as many as 3 films. Shamshera would be his first release of the season. It’ll be out on July 22 while Brahmastra will be released on September 9. Next year, Ranbir would be seen in Luv Ranjan’s untitled next, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor. The shoot of the film is underway, in Mauritius.

Bollywood Hungama stumbled upon an interesting report published by Défi Media, a local news agency in the island country. It published a story of Kunal Kutwaroo, a Mauritius citizen, who’s also a big Bollywood fan. Kunal revealed that he found out that Ranbir is staying in a hotel in the Flic-en-Flac area of Mauritius. On Saturday, July 2, he went there, hoping to meet the star.

 

When Ranbir arrived, Kunal Kutwaroo waved and tried to catch his attention. Ranbir Kapoor not acknowledged it but also told him, ‘Come, let’s take a selfie’. Kunal was quoted as saying that it’s rare for a well-known actor to make such an offer. He also revealed that he took as many as three selfies with Ranbir Kapoor.

 

The news report also quoted a statement of Vikram Jootun, director of the Mauritius Film Development Corporation (MFDC). Vikram revealed that the unit of Luv Ranjan’s film will be leaving Mauritius on July 5 and that they arrived in their country on June 21. Vikram further remarked that the late Rishi Kapoor visited Mauritius regularly and now they are more than happy to welcome his ‘mega star’ son. He also added that he’s hoping that Luv Ranjan’s film will help in boosting the tourism of the island.

 

Lastly, he concluded that they have been receiving several requests for film shoots and that they choose only those projects, which will contribute to the tourism and promotion of Mauritius.

 

Bollywood has shot several films in Mauritius over the years, especially songs. Neeraj Pandey’s web series Special Ops 1.5’s shoot commenced shooting in March 2021 and after it was halted due to the second wave, it was resumed in July. Earlier this year, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon had flown to the country to shoot a portion of Shehzada.

 

Luv Ranjan’s film also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Boney Kapoor and will be released on March 8, 2023.
