Rajkummar Rao's debut production Toaster sees reunion with Abhishek Banerjee

The trailer of Toaster is out, marking a reunion between Rajkummar Rao and Abhishek Banerjee, who previously shared screen space in the Stree franchise. The film also marks Rao’s debut as a producer, adding another dimension to his involvement in the project.

Banerjee makes a guest appearance in the film, and his brief interaction with Rao in the trailer hints at a comedic dynamic reminiscent of their earlier collaborations. While limited in screen time, the cameo is positioned as a notable element in the film’s narrative, drawing attention due to the actors’ established on-screen chemistry.

 

The collaboration carries a personal aspect as well, with Banerjee’s appearance seen as a gesture of support for Rao’s first production venture. The two actors have worked together in the past, and their association continues with this project, blending professional collaboration with off-screen camaraderie. Toaster features Rao in the lead role while also backing the project as producer. Beyond Toaster, Banerjee has multiple projects in development. He is set to feature in Lust Stories 3 alongside Konkona Sen Sharma. He is also part of an untitled project with Gajraj Rao and Ahsaas Channa. Additionally, he will appear in the Tamil film Legacy, co-starring R. Madhavan.
