Priyanka Chopra credits Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan Khan for shaping Hollywood path :"Amazing artists that came before me"
Actor Priyanka Chopra has acknowledged the contribution of earlier Indian performers to the growing presence of Indian talent in global cinema, noting that her own journey internationally did not happen in isolation.
Speaking while discussing her Hollywood trajectory around her upcoming film Head of State, Chopra said she sees her success as part of a larger movement rather than a standalone breakthrough.
Referring to actors who worked internationally before her, she said she owes much to the “amazing artists that came before me,” adding that their work helped open doors and familiarise global audiences with Indian performers.
Chopra specifically mentioned Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the late Irrfan Khan, both of whom built notable international careers. Rai’s appearances in global projects and festivals, and Khan’s widely respected performances in international films, contributed to shaping how Indian actors are perceived abroad.
By acknowledging their influence, Chopra highlighted how representation in global entertainment develops gradually through the efforts of multiple generations. Her own work across films, streaming projects, and international campaigns reflects the expanding space for Indian actors in Western productions.
Her comments have since drawn attention for recognising the continuity of Indian representation in Hollywood and the role of earlier pioneers in enabling newer opportunities.
