Mohit Suri lauds Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s public support of Saiyaara: “Reminds me why we do what we do”

Filmmaker Mohit Suri took to Twitter on July 24 to extend a note of heartfelt appreciation to fellow director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for publicly supporting Saiyaara, his latest directorial venture. Suri’s message followed Vanga’s earlier endorsement of the film, in which he lauded its romantic and dramatic storytelling.

In his tweet addressed directly to Vanga, the Aashiqui 2 director wrote, “Sandeep, @imvangasandeep thank you for being the first one to openly support and express your generous belief in Saiyaara. It meant the world coming from a filmmaker whose craft I deeply admire. I’ve always respected the raw emotion, fearlessness and intensity you bring to your stories. It reminds me why we do what we do — to move people, to connect. Grateful to walk this path alongside storytellers like you. Here's to more powerful cinema and always a fan!”

 

 

Vanga’s Early Praise for Saiyaara

 

Weeks before the film’s release, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had tweeted in support of Saiyaara, sharing the trailer with a glowing review: “Witnessing a Hindi heartland love story completely emphasizing on romance and drama. Waiting to watch it on the first day. Wishing the debutants all the very best :-) It’s purely Mohit Suri's Magic :-).”

 

Backed by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara marks the acting debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the latter known for her work in Big Girls Don’t Cry. Despite a relatively quiet pre-release phase and minimal media buzz, the romantic drama emerged as a surprise hit. It not only resonated with audiences but also broke multiple box office records.
