EXCLUSIVE: Jacqueline Fernandez recalls her first audition for Sujoy Ghosh’s film Aladin

Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh were last seen in the recently release film Attack-Part 1 alongside John Abraham. This is the first time that Rakul and Jacqueline shared a screen. Apart from sharing screens, the one significant common factor between the two actors is that they are both self-made and entered the industry without any prior contacts.

Jacqueline Fernandez made her debut in the 2009 fantasy-adventure Hindi film Aladin directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film also starred Amitabh Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Jacqueline recalled how she turned up for her first audition for Sujoy Ghosh’s film. “For my first audition with Sujoy, I was wearing the most unflattering long shorts. I had my chashma on and I didn't know if I had my hair combed properly. We were like, we are going to do what we need to do. No one told me to brush myself up or brush your hair,” she said.

 

Rakul, who was also part of the interview, said that they did know how to present themselves for auditions. “No one teaches you anything. Even the film you choose, you only choose from what you get, whether films work or whether people accept you. There is no one to back you when the film is not working. No one is going to give you another film. Through my journey, I have been blessed to find the right kind of people who helped me navigate and made my mindset in a certain way. They have all been supportive and helpful through my journey,” Rakul shared.

 

 

Rakul Preet Singh will next be seen in the film Runway 34, while Jacqueline will next be seen in the film Cirkus directed by Rohit Shetty.
