Believe it or not but Golmaal Again is Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty's tenth film together! In a career spanning 26 years and close to 100 films, the actor has worked with the director on maximum films together. As for the filmmaker too, except for a couple of films with Shah Rukh Khan [Chennai Express, Dilwale], it is the partnership with the actor that has spanned a good 14 years.Dus Ka Dum - Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty aim to score high with their tenth film together, Golmaal Again

A journey that started way back in 2003 [Zameen] and has seen a series of successes over a period of time is now seeing a major milestone being eyed, what with Golmaal Again releasing this Diwali.

Here is looking at how this journey kick-started and has been eventful ever since.

Zameen (2003) – Rs. 12 crore

Both Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty love action, and this is what led them to collaborate on their first film together, Zameen. An action entertainer with a patriotic theme to it, the film also featured Abhishek Bachchan as a parallel lead with Ajay Devgn. The film was a fair success and ensured that the start was good enough to lead towards many more films together for the actor-director 'jodi'.

Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006) – Rs. 32 crore

It wasn't immediately after Zameen that the duo collaborated on a film together. Instead, they waited for a while and the result was a film that was altogether different from what they had done earlier in Zameen. This time around they took a comic route that led to Golmaal franchise been born. A multi-starrer with Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor joining the fun, the film was a good hit at the Box Office.

Sunday (2008) – Rs. 22 crore

2008 saw as many as five Ajay Devgn releases and two of these were with Rohit Shetty. Sunday arrived earlier and was an action comedy with a mystery twist to it. Yet again, this one had many actors come together, most notably being Ayesha Takia, Irrfan Khan and Arshad Warsi. A cool affair with a funky soundtrack Sunday did carry good entertainment quotient but unfortunately couldn't do much commercially.

Golmaal Returns (2008) – Rs. 52 crore

There was a turnaround soon after though as Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty chose Diwali for Golmaal Returns. This was their first festive release together and the result was quite positive too as the film opened really well and brought in audiences in horde. Though the follow through wasn't as exciting as the opening, initial footfalls were good enough to make Golmaal Returns successful. The franchise was up and running!

All the Best (2009) – Rs. 42 crore

From this point on an Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty starrer was a yearly phenomenon and this was seen in 2009 as well when All The Best released on Diwali. Sanjay Dutt and Fardeen Khan joined all the fun too and the film was accepted well by the audiences. Though the film doesn't have as much recall value as the Golmaal series, it would be good to see this convert into a franchise as well in years to come.

Golmaal 3 (2010) – Rs. 108 crore

As for the Golmaal series, it was turning out to be bigger with every instalment and that was evidenced with Golmaal 3 which not just opened quite well but also went on to enter the Rs. 100 Crore Club. The film went on to have good word of mouth, hence finding footfalls on a consistent note. The team was firmly established too with Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemmu joining the show.

Singham (2011) – Rs. 100 crore

Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty changed tracks as eight years after Zameen they decided to make an action entertainer again. They chose to remake South 'masala' flick Singham and brought Maharashtrian elements into the Hindi version. The film took a good opening and then sustained well on a week by week basis. In the recent times, this stays on to be one of the most loved films of the actor-director 'jodi'.

Bol Bachchan (2012) – Rs. 103 crore

Nine years after Zameen, Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan reunited for Bol Bachchan. An official remake of Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt's Golmaal, this one was actually a completely different take on the Hrishikesh Mukherjee comedy and took a trip of its own. Audiences accepted the final product as well and ensured that the film entered the Rs. 100 Crore Club. There wasn't a scope for a sequel though.

Singham Returns (2014) – Rs. 140 crore

The film that did see a sequel though was Singham Returns. The film was much hyped en route release and the buzz was unprecedented when it opened, so much so that it set quite a few records. Singham Returns stays on to be Ajay Devgn's biggest opener till date and though the appreciation wasn't as much as it was for Singham, it was a much bigger grosser with 140 crore coming in. It is time for Singham 3!

Golmaal Again (2017)

It is pretty much expected that the record of Singham Returns would be surpassed by Golmaal Again. The film is fourth in the Golmaal series and has a massive advantage of seeing a Diwali release. The promo had found appreciation too and audiences are keen to check out what the family entertainer has to offer. With a bigger and better feel to it, this 10th film of Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty is now keenly awaited.
