Dulquer Salmaan speaks out on Rana Daggubati's controversial statement: “I believe whatever he chose to say…”

Dulquer Salmaan has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding Rana Daggubati's statement about a leading actress who wasted his time on sets. In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Salmaan said that he does not want to "dive into" Daggubati's statement, but that he cherishes their friendship.

"I feel that I have a wonderful group of friends, including co-actors and industry peers," he said. "I'm easygoing; I don't usually complain, and I'm fine."

 

Dulquer said that he believes Daggubati did not mean to cause any harm with his statement and that he apologized because he was concerned about how it affected everyone involved.

 

"I believe whatever he chose to say, maybe he wasn't considering it fully," he said. "That's why he apologized. He's a close friend, and I suppose he was concerned that it impacted all of us, so he clarified."

 

Daggubati had made the statement at a promotional event. He was talking about his friendship with Dulquer and how he had visited him on the set of a Hindi movie.

 

"He was doing a Hindi movie, and the producers are my friends," Daggubati had said. "The shoot was happening near my house. I went there to meet Dulquer. While he was standing in the corner with the spot boy, a big Hindi heroine who was doing that movie was engrossed in a phone conversation about shopping in London with her husband. Her lack of focus affected the shots' quality, frustrating those on set."

 

Daggubati later issued an apology for his statement, saying that it was "totally untrue" and that he had meant it "entirely in a light-hearted manner."
