Awarded ‘Valerian of Racism’ by the makers of Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets, Abhay openly expressed his views on gender-based stereotypes in Hindi movies, about how some Bollywood films ended up glorifying stalking as a legitimate means to win over the girl. His most recent take was being against fairness creams.

 

Valerian being synonymous with Saviour, which is the chief motto of the upcoming movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, the team handpicked Indian celebrities who are fighting for / saving the country from a social menace.

 

Abhay Deol received this recognition for his undeterred fight against Racism. Absolutely elated, Abhay said, “I got an award for fighting racism! We have a long way to go and so help from anywhere is welcome. Valerian stands in solidarity with us!”

 

Directed by Luc Besson, Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets is being released in India on July 28, 2017.
