Arjun Kapoor says “Life’s been kinda cruel to me lately” in an emotional note for mother Mona Kapoor on her birth anniversary

On February 3, 2026, actor Arjun Kapoor shared an emotional note in memory of his late mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor, on the occasion of her birth anniversary. Taking to Instagram, the actor penned a heartfelt message reflecting on loss, resilience, and the values she instilled in him.

In the caption accompanying his post, Arjun wrote, “Happy birthday Maa, I miss u so much today / Life’s been kinda cruel to me lately but it’s ok…  I’ve taken the punches before I’ll take em again & still rise… Because u taught me how to fight by standing up facing life head on while being graceful & dignified thru it all… We will ride it out together U & I / I’ll see u again soon & we will celebrate ur bday together someday.”

 

The post struck a chord with fans and members of the film fraternity alike. Actors Aparshakti Khurana, Zoya Akhtar, Rakul Preet Singh and Rahul Dev, among others, dropped red-heart emojis in the comments section, expressing quiet support and solidarity.

 

 

 

Mona Shourie Kapoor passed away on March 25, 2012, due to multiple organ failure following a prolonged battle with cancer and hypertension. Arjun has consistently marked both her birth and death anniversaries with deeply personal tributes, often speaking about the void her absence has left in his life.

 

Earlier, on the 13th anniversary of her passing, Arjun had shared a series of pictures with his mother and reflected on the enduring pain of loss. In that post, he wrote, “13 years today, Maa. Some days, the weight of it all feels too heavy. Ansh and I try, we really do, to make the most of the world you built for us. But there are still so many conversations left unfinished, so many moments I wish we could share. I hold on to the hope that one day, we’ll sit together and complete them all. Until then, I miss you every single day. Love you, always (sic).”

 

 

 

On the professional front, Arjun Kapoor was last seen in Mere Husband Ki Biwi, which also starred Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. The actor will next be seen in No Entry 2.
