When Aneet Padda bagged her first advertisement for a coffee brand: “It arrived with mixed feelings for me”

Actor Aneet Padda recently opened up about her journey into the entertainment industry and the pivotal moment that marked her early breakthrough  landing a coffee advertisement. During a candid conversation with Cosmopolitan India, Aneet revealed how the opportunity came her way and how her family, particularly her grandmother, played a crucial role in the process.

As she searched online for opportunities, Padda came across shady websites that were “scams, basically.” During the pandemic, she sent audition tapes and “a horrible biodata and Snapchat filter pictures” to nearly every production house before realizing that casting agencies handled opportunities for actors.

 

Recalling the moment she landed her coffee ad, Aneet said, “Once I auditioned through one of them and landed an instant coffee advertisement, it arrived with mixed feelings for me.” Her parents, who were initially unaware of how seriously she was pursuing acting, were taken by surprise.

 

However, Aneet’s grandmother stood by her side and gave her the courage to take the leap. Describing her grandmother’s support, Aneet recalled her saying, “Tu das ke aa, main dekh loongi” (You tell them, and leave it up to me). That assurance gave Aneet the confidence she needed at a time when she felt uncertain about her choices.

 

When the ad finally aired, it became a turning point for her. Padda, who once felt “young, helpless, and very outside-the-film-industry,” began to see a clearer path ahead - one filled with auditions, opportunities, and the belief that she belonged in the world of cinema.

 

The coffee commercial not only marked her on-screen debut but also became a moment of validation that reminded Aneet of the power of familial support and self-belief at the beginning of every dreamer’s journey.
