Alia Bhatt celebrates Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s birthday, cheers for Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava success with Ranbir Kapoor on Love and War set; watch

Alia Bhatt celebrated Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s birthday in Mumbai on Monday evening with her Love and War co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She shared a glimpse of the massive birthday cake on Instagram and gave a special shoutout to Vicky for the success of Chhaava.

Alia Bhatt shared a new picture from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s birthday celebration, where she smiled for the camera while standing behind Vicky Kaushal. Bhansali was seated between Vicky and Ranbir Kapoor, with a chocolate cake in front of them that had “Happy Birthday” written on it, along with two small candles. Another picture showed Vicky seemingly taking a piece of cake for himself.

 

Alia Bhatt shared the celebration post with a heartfelt caption and wrote, “A quick break from night shoots to celebrate our director . Happy birthday magician sir (and happy 3 to our Gangu too) & lastly many many cheers and claps for @vickykaushal09 absolutely smashing the box office with Chhaava!!! Chalo abhi party over … back to shoot.”

 

 

 

Alia Bhatt had earlier praised Chhaava and Vicky Kaushal’s performance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Sharing her thoughts on Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Vicky Kaushal! What are you????? Cannot get over your performance in Chhaava! @vickykaushal09.”

 

The historical drama Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, was released in theatres on February 14 and has already become the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, earning over ₹300 crore. The film is based on Shivaji Sawant's Marathi novel of the same name.

 

Alia Bhatt is currently shooting for Love and War, her second collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Gangubai Kathiawadi, which earned her the National Award for Best Actress. She also has Alpha, co-starring Sharvari, in the pipeline.
