Ponniyin Selvan - 2 Worldwide Box Office: Mani Ratnam directorial grosses Rs. 250 cr. worldwide at the close of Week 1

Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2 has lived up to the expectations after the success of the first film in the series released last year. Going by the people’s reactions, the second part has put a convincing end to the story started by the earlier film. PS-2 has also succeeded in garnering positive box office numbers down South while the film has earned decently in its Hindi version too in its first week.

But that’s not all. PS-2 has also turned out to be a winner if one looks at the gross worldwide collections in Week 1. As per the information received by us, the film, which mainly stars Chiyaan Viram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, has grossed Rs. 250 cr. worldwide.

 

The breakdown of the daily worldwide box office collection is as follows

 

Day 1 – Rs. 61.53 cr.

 

Day 2 – Rs. 46.21 cr.

 

Day 3 – Rs. 42.80 cr.

 

Day 4 – Rs. 40.36 cr.

 

Day 5 – Rs. 29.15 cr.

 

Day 6 – Rs. 17.64 cr.

 

Day 7 – Rs. 12.42 cr.

 

Total – Rs. 250.11 cr.

 

PS-2 started with a bang on the first day with Rs 61.53 crores. The numbers had a slight fall from the second day onwards but that’s the case with almost every big South film. PS-2 continued to have a good hold on the numbers even on the weekdays and that has helped the film cross the Rs. 250 crores mark worldwide.
