Haunted: Echoes of the Past 3D passes Monday test with Rs. 1.72 cr; collects nearly 2.5 times more than Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata

Main Vaapas Aaunga continued to emerge as a steady performer. After collecting Rs. 1.28 crore on Friday, Rs. 1.85 crore on Saturday and Rs. 2.50 crore on Sunday, the film earned Rs. 1.15 crore on Monday. The 54% drop from Sunday is within acceptable limits, taking its four-day total to Rs. 6.78 crore. The film now has a good chance of sustaining through the weekdays if it manages to remain stable over the next few days.

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata experienced a sharper decline. Following collections of Rs. 1 crore on Friday, Rs. 1.40 crore on Saturday and Rs. 1.73 crore on Sunday, it managed Rs. 0.60 crore on Monday. Its four-day total now stands at Rs. 4.73 crore. The film will need stronger weekday holds and positive word of mouth to improve its theatrical prospects.

Among the four releases, Haunted: Echoes of the Past 3D comfortably remained the best performer. After opening with Rs. 2.50 crore, followed by Rs. 3.33 crore and Rs. 3.80 crore over the weekend, the horror entertainer collected a healthy Rs. 1.72 crore on Monday. The film has now accumulated Rs. 11.35 crore in four days. Despite the expected weekday decline, the Monday number indicates that the film continues to attract audiences and could enjoy a successful theatrical run if it maintains momentum.

Meanwhile, Governor saw collections taper off after its opening weekend. The film earned Rs. 0.94 crore on Friday, Rs. 1.15 crore on Saturday and Rs. 1.40 crore on Sunday before collecting Rs. 0.40 crore on Monday. Its four-day total now stands at Rs. 3.89 crore. While the drop is on expected lines, the film will hope for steady weekday collections to add respectable numbers before new releases arrive.

With the Monday test now behind them, the weekday trend over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will determine which of these films can build a respectable lifetime total at the box office.
