Gadar 2 becomes the first movie to collect Rs. 30 cr+ NETT for 6 consecutive days

In the world where box office numbers serve as a testament to a film's success, Gadar 2 has emerged as a roaring triumph. The Sunny Deol – Ameesha Patel starrer which takes the story of 2001 release Gadar – Ek Prem Katha forward hit screens last week, and since there it has proved to be unstoppable. In fact, the Anil Sharma directorial, which came with immense hype, anticipation and hopes attached has lived up to expectations, going on to reestablish new benchmarks at the box office window. After a stellar opening, the business of Gadar 2 has been on an upward trend with each passing day managing to cross the Rs. 100 cr. and the Rs. 200 cr. mark in record time.

In this box office report, we look at the day wise collections of Gadar 2 while comparing the same to previous releases. Not surprisingly, Gadar 2 that received rave reviews and highly positive audience feedback, has seen its collections each day remain well over the Rs. 30 cr. mark. After opening with a collection of Rs. 40.10 cr, the film saw a further Rs. 43.08 cr. and Rs. 51.70 cr. coming in on its first Saturday and Sunday respectively. On its first Monday, Gadar 2 remained strong witnessing a measly 5% drop in business with Rs. 38.70 cr. coming in. However, on Tuesday thanks to the Independence Day holiday the film raked in a staggering Rs. 55.40 cr, taking it past the Rs. 200 cr. mark. Continuing the rampage at the box office, the film has seen a further Rs. 32.37 cr. coming in on Wednesday, Day 6.

 

Interestingly, when compared to previous releases, Gadar 2, that has seen its collections blossom while holding steady, features the higher number of days with a collection of over Rs. 30 cr. In fact, Gadar 2, which recorded an excess of Rs. 30 cr. for 6 days at a stretch, has managed to surpass Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion which had recorded collections more than Rs. 30 cr. on 5 consecutive days. Besides this, Gadar 2 has also overtaken films like Sultan and Pathaan each of which had recorded 5 consecutive days with a collection over Rs. 30 cr.

 

As of now, the Gadar 2 rage still grips the nation, with the mass dominated belt patronizing the film in droves, trade predictions claim that the business of the film will see further growth. Currently, advance estimates state that Gadar 2 could likely near the Rs. 300 cr. mark by the end of its first week running.
