Code Name: Tiranga Box Office: Parineeti Chopra starrer has a disastrous opening

It was a disastrous opening for Code Name: Tiranga as only Rs. 0.15 crores came in. When the promo of the film released, it had seemed that this is one of those films which will take some sort of start. There was no pre-release awareness around the film though and hence when the poster and the trailer arrived, it was rather surprising, more so since Parineeti Chopra was leading the show. However, since the promo was well cut, there were hopes that there would be a follow-through on promotion and marketing to accentuate its perspective.

None of that happened though as there was absolute silence around the film for weeks that followed. By the time the film released it seemed quite clear that the theatrical release is a mere formality. In fact, it also arrived on very few screens and shows and there was just no idea amongst ‘aam junta’ that the film had arrived. That reflected in zilch collections for the film and with not many even reviewing it, there is nothing that would result in any sort of word of mouth.

 

This must be heartbreaking indeed for Parineeti Chopra since the actress was on a high after last year’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Saina and The Girl On The Train, all of which had fetched her good critical acclaim. She has done well in Code Name: Tiranga as well but unfortunately, audiences will see her again on the small screen only for this film.
