An extended weekend always helps and it did give a major boost to the three major releases which opened in the festive week. Expectedly, the overall business showed a big jump not just in India, but in Overseas as well.

'Garam Masala' Emerges Victorious!

 

In U.K., GARAM MASALA has taken a mind-boggling start [37 screens] -- in fact, the biggest start for a Bollywood film in 2005. KYON KI… [55 screens] hasn't fared as expected, while SHAADI NO. 1 [33 screens] occupies the No. 3 rank in this race.


 

While the U.S. figures are yet to pour in, SHAADI NO. 1 [45 screens] has had an average start there.

 

In Australia, GARAM MASALA [5 screens] has fetched an impressive initial, while SHAADI NO. 1 [7 screens] is average again.
