Sushmita to raise funds for Imran Khans cancer hospital
While the makers of JUST PUNJABI [producer Bunty Walia and director Apoorva Lakhia] have finalized the male cast of JUST PUNJABI -- Big B and Sanjay Dutt -- they've yet to finalize the leading lady of the film.
At a point of time, the makers were contemplating signing Lara Dutta. "We have approached Sushmita Sen and Lara for the role in question," Apoorva [recuperating from a leg injury in Singapore] tells me, "Besides the shooting dates, we require an additional 20 days from the actress to undergo a rigorous training in karate and several death defying stunts."
While both Sush and Lara are keen to do the film, the hitch is that the actress who agrees to do the film eventually will need to shell out a massive chunk of dates for the project. "The heroine in the film does more stunts than the guys. She's a karate expert, hence she needs to be trained by experts," he adds.
Meanwhile, the producers have already chalked out the shooting schedule of the film. The first stint [of 15 days] will take place in October this year, while the second schedule [of 50 days] will be held either in Canada or Singapore from April 2005.
