Simran No Longer Part Of 'Dobaara':

Simran won't be a part of Shashi Ranjan's new film, titled DOBAARA, any longer. Reason? It so happened that I needed bulk dates from her and since she's doing Mani Ratnam's film, which is being made in two versions, we couldn't match her dates, says Shashi. No controversies here! Incidentally, Simran was cast as Jackie's wife in the film, who is beautiful, sexy and has a mind of her own. Normally, in most Hindi films, the wife is supposed to be a simpleton, while the other woman is this sexy, glamorous person. I wanted to break that stereotype. Now, I have to cast someone else, adds Shashi. However, Shashi denies that the film [which stars Jackie, Raveena and Sanjay Dutt in a special role] is inspired by a real-life incident. It's been drawn from some things you have heard and read, but nothing completely based on a real life story, he clarifies.
