Satte Pe Satta to be remade
Almost two months ago, this writer broke the news of Ekta Kapoor and director Satish Kaushik joining hands to make the classic SARASWATI CHANDRA. A Jeetendra presentation, the makers had signed writer Jainendra Jain to work on the script of the film.
Well, the latest on the project is that Satish has approached Aishwarya Rai to enact the central role in the film. That's true, he tells me, Actually, I had sounded off the idea to Ash while we were making HAMARA DIL AAPKE PAAS HAI. I've been eager to make this subject for quite some time now.
He continues, I haven't approached Ash of late, but I did speak to her business manager recently. Though I am keen to cast her for the film, I would be able to take a decision once the script is complete.
The TERE NAAM director also denies that the project will star Tusshar in the lead, even though it's a Balaji Films production. Like I said, we haven't thought of the casting yet. Our priority is to put the script in order before anything else.
Will Satish Kaushik's SARASWATI CHANDRA match the level of the Nutan starrer SARASWATI CHANDRA in terms of performances, making and music [the Nutan starrer was embellished with songs such as 'Chandan Sa Badan', 'Phool Tumhe Bheja Hai Khat Mein', 'Main To Bhool Chali Babul Ka Des' and 'Chhod De Saari Duniya Kisike Liye'] is to be seen!
