Malaika's item song 'Anarkali' from Housefull 2 set in strip club in London

Malaika Arora's item song for Housefull 2 with the primary male cast has four generations of actors drooling over Malaika's dancer-avatar 'Anarkali' from Mithun to Boman to Akshay to Riteish.

 

From 'Munni' to 'Anarkali', the stunning Malaika Arora is all set for a complete makeover as an item girl. Satiated and quite done with being labelled 'Munni' in a raunchy rustic bar in Dabangg's celebrated item song, Malaika has gotten together with her 'Munni Badnaam' choreographer Farah Khan to reinvent herself as a diva-like dancer in a strip club in London for an item song in Housefull 2 that will be shot from October 27.

The number 'Anarkali' sung by Mamta Sharma who sang 'Munni', will find Malaika completely revamping her image.

 

Says the source, "It's not just Malaika who goes from the raunchy 'Munni' to a sophisticated and sensual 'Anarkali' in Housefull 2. It's also the singer Mamta Sharma who is looking for a change of image with the help of Dabangg composers Sajid-Wajid who incidentally were at loggerheads with Lalit Pandit who had composed 'Munni Badnaam'. Sajid-Wajid were understandably miffed about the intrusion. So the 'Anarkali' item song in Housefull 2 is actually about a whole bunch of people with a back-projection of challenges. Malaika has to get away from the 'Munni' image. And Sajid-Wajid have to prove they can do a better item song than 'Munni Badnaam'."

 

Interestingly, 'Anarkali' will be shot on a set representing a desi strip club in London spilling over with excited NRI men. Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani will be joining Malaika on the dance floor. They've all been given signature steps to perform.

 

Says the source, "Farah has devised signature steps for every actor. She wants all the actors to look comfortable and graceful with Malaika. Is it a challenge? Handling six actors is a cakewalk for her after the entire industry had danced through her item number in Om Shanti Om."
