Irrfan Khan cast opposite Aishwarya Rai in Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa

Earlier we had reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would soon be making her comeback to films with the Sanjay Gupta film Jazbaa. Later we were informed that Gupta had roped in Hollywood action director Spiro Razatos to helm the action sequences in the film. Now, the latest update is that Sanjay Gupta has since signed on Irrfan Khan to play the lead role opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

 

Jazbaa which is said to be an action thriller drama will feature Aishwarya as a very strong female character, playing the role of a lawyer while Irrfan Khan will reprise the role of a suspended cop who has problems with authority and discipline. Besides Irrfan and Aishwarya, we had also reported that John Abraham too had been cast opposite Aishwarya in the film. Though the filmmaker did not reveal any details about the role that John will be playing, we hear that it will just be an extended cameo where John will portray the role of a gangster.

Produced and directed by Sanjay Gupta, Jazbaa is slated to go on floors in January 2015.
