Brief description of characters in Mohabbatein:

Narayan Shankar (Amitabh Bachchan) plays the strict principal of a Gurukul and does not believe in love and emotions. He believes that love leads to pain which in turn leads to weakness thus affecting one's career. Raj Aryan (Shahrukh Khan) is a music teacher who always has a smile on his face and a violin in his hand. He firmly believes in love. He lands up at Gurukul to spread love thereby breaking Narayan's rule. Vicky (Uday Chopra) is a cool & a sporty guy who always flirts with girls. He does not believe in love till he sees Ishika. Ishika (Shamita Shetty) plays a spoilt girl who comes from an affluent family and is studying at the girl's school next to Gurukul. She is a stubborn girl and does not give in to any guy who falls for her. Sameer (Jugal Hansraj) is a shy romantic guy in love with his childhood sweetheart Sanjana. But he is unable to express his feelings to her and keeps the matter close to his heart. Sanjana (Kim Sharma) is the childhood friend of Sameer and believes that there are no compromises in love. Karan (Jimmy Shergill) is a practical and a sensible guy but at the same time he does not believe in love till he meets Kiran. Kiran (Preeti Jhangiani) is a shy girl who comes from a family believing in orthodox traditions and superstitions. She questions all this traditions the moment Karan enters her life.
