Best film of this year so far even better then New york . shahid rocks vishal rocks awesoem go for it
So as many of us know that Shahid is playing double role in this film as Charlie and guddu the twin brothers; each having a speech defect. one stammers while other lisps.Charlie is a horse race bookie cum a small gangster while guddu is a sweet innocent harmless boy who works for an NGO and is in Love with his girlfriend sweety ( priyanka chopra) who's sister of a local gangster politician called Bhope bhau ( amole gupta).Amole Gupte does not want his sister Sweety to settle down with Guddu, who is a non-Maharashtrian. He can not stand the sight of her sister playing love game with a non-Maharashtrian .
On the other hand, Charlie has stolen some cocaine from the custody of corrupt cops, Lobe and Lele; and searching for buyers with the help of his friend mikhail to get rich quickly. In this effort, he makes enemy of both crooked cops and drug lords. Though Charlie and Guddu can not stand each other but by a strange twist of fate get involved in each other lives during a rainy night. due to the fact taht they r twins and a misunderstanding guddue reaches police station while Charlie gets with politician, Guddu ends up facing gangsters and crooked cop. To end this confusion, the twin brothers—Charlie and Guddu must meet.Thereafter Charlie and Guddu face the big bad world of drug, mafia, guns etc. Their life becomes a struggle against gangsters, corrupt politicians and corrupt cops. How they overcome all these difficulties and what happens afterwards forms rest of the story.
Now coming to the performances i guess saying that this is the Career turning role for shahid Won't be wrong. He is the show stealer without a single doubt.He did full justice to both the roles and made them so real and beleiveable. I am so happy that vishal showed his faith on shahid and casted him and shahid didn't let him down Boy oh Boy Shahid has finally arrived with this and He should dominate all awards next year for his amazing performance. He proved his genes and also that if given in right hands he can very well be the next No 1 Star. Personally am so happy that finally with this he's gonna get his due which was long overdue. Me Loved this dude in his lovey dovey characters too but this has to be something just too good.i still can't choose if i likk charlie better or guddu . if guddu is sweet then charlie is Sexy or how he would say it Fexy :D.
Priyanka chopra is Fab in her role . let me tell you am not a priyanka fan but she was amazing loved her as sweety. again a brilliant performance personally i liked her more in this than fashion but that's just my opinion. she was more realistic in this and her chemistry with shahid is awesome.
the rest of the cast is perfect too.
Now coming to the real hero of the film which no doubt has to be Vishal. his direction is SUPERB. Storytelling is just way different and amazing. He has successfully managed to bring Hollywood style of narration to bollywood with this different, dark, and violent film.Though Vishal takes time (around twenty minutes) to establish his characters, which is necessary in my opinion,but once this period is over, the viewer is transported into the world of ‘Kaminey’ completely. His one liner in the film score point and keep the viewers glued to their seats till the end. The music is already a hit and Brilliant. personally i am in love with the entire album which rarely happens. my fav tracks has to be dhan tana and kaminay . the lyrics and vishal's voice is so touching . it makes u think round of applause for that.
Best scenes
Honestly i can't choose because the whole film is Perfect; but if i really really have to choose one i'll choose the scene where guddu tells sweety about his past and also the scenes between the twin brothers towards the end and also the train scene oh Btw did i mention the scene where charlie saves guddu? what brilliant acting by shahid as both guddu and charlie it makes u very emotional.
Problems: there r infact no problems with the film except that i think vishal should have added Pehli baar mohabbat in the film itself then to show it with end credits that's the only thing i didn't liked about it .
I'll rate it a 4.5/5 it's highly recommended to everyone me probably will watch it again over the weekend it's just so good u feel like watching it again.
